CENTENNIAL – Village Homes, Colorado’s largest privately owned and operated community builder, is proud to announce that Village of Five Parks’ Haskin Park, in conjunction with Keesen Enterprises, has received an “Excellence in Landscape” award from the Associated Landscape Contractors of Colorado. (ALCC).

The award was based on Haskin Park’s landscape design impact, attention to detail, degree of difficulty, overall appearance, quality of construction and of plant materials, and meeting the owner's objectives. Of special importance for the Village of Five Parks’ recognition was Haskin Park’s three-and-a-half acre arboretum, which is being used as both a teaching tool and a recreational amenity.

“It’s rare to find an arboretum with this much attention to detail in Colorado,” said Kelly Martinez, community development superintendent for Village of Five Parks. “A lot of creativity and hard work went into the preparation and completion of this very special landscape design. We’re proud to receive this very significant award along with Keesen Enterprises.”

The arboretum at Village of Five Parks’ Haskin Park includes a themed moon and sun garden, water feature, gazebo and crafted walkways complete with marble, bronze and sandstone features.

The competition’s judges included leaders of member associations of Green Industries of Colorado: Colorado Nursery Association, American Society of Landscape Architects, and others.

This latest recognition is just part of what is proving to be a banner year for Village of Five Parks, having also being named Community of the Year for the third year in a row by the HBA of Denver a their annual BAR Awards ceremony. In addition, the elegant Gentry and Hamilton townhomes featured at Five Parks garnered the BAR Awards for “Attached Home of the Year” and “Best Attached Home” in its price range, respectively.
